Stay The Course!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

Okay, now that I have gotten the greeting out of the way, let’s talk about ways to keep motivated and focused for the entire 2021. Long ago I stop subscribing to the “New Year, New Me” mentality. As a matter of fact, I am a non-traditional kind of person that believes in having daily experiences not just holiday celebrations, but enough about me. (I will share what I did for Christmas and New Year in another blog post, so stay tuned)

I want to encourage you with several tips that can help you accomplish your goals and stay the course, no matter what life may throw at you. I hope we have learned from our 2020 experiences that there are many curves that may stop us in our tracks. So, it’s important to have strategies in place and be willing to shift when necessary.

Now you’re probably wondering why I titled this blog “Stay The Course” if I am suggesting to be willing to shift. Well let’s look at the meaning of both words:

Shift: a slight change in position or direction Course: the way in which something progresses or develops

So therefore the way you progress and/or develop in any area of your life is by staying the course and adjusting to the shifts that may happen. The “course” is identified by the path that God has you on and “the shift” can occurred when an unplanned events happens. So for example I had the shifts that happened in my life in last year. First, I had to let go of the “Independent Woman” mindset in order to be open to God sending people to help me as heal and recover from breast cancer. The second shift happened in my business, where I had to transition all my programming and conferences from in-person to virtual, causing me to learn how to create digital products and services. Both of these shift were not easy but necessary for both my personal and professional development, and so the strategies that I will be sharing with you are what helped me to stay the course and not give up when life happen in unexpected ways.

  • Spend quiet/quality time with yourself and GOD
  • Pray, Meditate on God’s Word, and Journal your thoughts
  • KNOW what GOD has for you is for YOU
  • Allow progression to be made behind the scenes, leaving room for trial and error
  • Be Adaptable to change
  • Leave room for redirection and Guidance
  • Become comfortable being alone with yourself
  • Accept nothing Less than the BEST!!!

BONUS: Here a few key ingredients for staying on track with the best version of YOU.

NO MATTER WHAT:

1.)STAY focused on the VISION God gave YOU

2.)Work a little each day on your dreams

3.)REMEMBER YOU are GREAT

Also remember to track your wins and journal your experiences, so when you are in self-reflection mode you can look back and be encouraged.

Provision For The Vision

Provision For The Vision

I have always lived my life through the lenses of the bigger picture vision. As a born visionary; someone who is always thinking about or planning the future with imagination or wisdom: it’s embedded in my DNA to think bigger, go harder and break boundaries.  What happens though, when the vision scares you and doubt starts to set in, and you are questioning if YOU have what it takes to make it happen?

You seek a more knowledgeable and powerful source to be your resource! For me, that source has been Christ.  Let me take you back to my childhood days, where my visionary mindset envisioned traveling and writing books all while going through abuse and trauma. You see, I grew up to a mentally ill mother who was abusive in every way possible, and in order to be able to live through that trauma, I chose to dream about getting out and being “someone” other than that abused little girl.

Well, GUESS WHAT that someone is ME. I have grown up to be the greatest version of myself, even better than I imagined. My dreams of traveling have come true and my passion for inspiring people has turned into a business and ministry that is making a global impact (speaking that into existence)!

Let’s talk about how I made it all come true: by starting my healing. The healing process allowed me to face my past and it’s demons, deal with the trauma and its residual side-effects and ultimately let go of the hurt, shame, and rejection I felt on a continuous basis. Once I started healing and allowing God to order my steps, I took an even bigger step and started following my dreams, taking a chance on me and doors began to open, opportunities began to present themselves and my resources have been overflowing.

I encourage you to tap into the ultimate source: God

What happens when our Dreams come true ?

1 Corinthians 1: 26-29 (NLT)

26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. 27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. 28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. 29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

What happens when our Dreams come true, but it is more work than we planned?

What happens when our dreams, takes us totally out of our comfort zone?

What happens when we starting losing ourselves in our dreams?

Well first we must ask ourselves, is this what God wants for us?

If the answer is Yes- then get use to being uncomfortable!

If the answer is No- then

(Read my last blog “ Regroup and Shift Focus” and watch my YouTube video (https://youtu.be/iJMSAniNXvc ) for more insight)

And if we lose ourselves while focusing in on our DREAMS than I say that’s a great thing. Why, because we lose ourselves to God and God is the one who planted those very dreams inside of us from before we were born. So when we emerge out from the hard work and labor pains of investing in ourselves and our dreams, we are becoming our truest selves. The person who God really intended for us to be, not what our circumstances, upbringing, our past, our family, our hurt, pain & abuse tried to tell us what to be!

Then let’s say “ BRING ON THE NEW ME”

The new me rooted in Christ

Romans 5:11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

And as a friend of God he will not leave you hanging.

So if he’s given you the vision he will give you the provision!
